Poorna Srinivasan is a geologist at the Aramco Research Center-Houston. She has worked for Aramco Americas for five years. Prior to joining the company, she interned at NASA Johnson Space Center for two years.
Her wide range of knowledge and experience in the geosciences includes research in planetary geology, research applied to features on and under the surface of the earth for the energy industry, and sustainability as it relates to oil and gas extraction.
Her research focus has been in both inorganic and organic geochemistry, utilizing laboratory instruments to develop new methodologies and workflows. Srinivasan earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University in Geological Sciences and a Master of Science degree from the University of New Mexico in Earth and Planetary Sciences.
She has eight peer-reviewed publications, including a first-authored paper in the scientific journal Nature Communications. She has presented her work at 26 international conferences and holds a U.S. patent. Srinivasan currently serves as an associate editor for Interpretation: A Journal of Subsurface Characterization published by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
