Ms. McGuire is a seasoned corporate attorney and business-minded advisor with over 18 years of experience structuring and closing sophisticated commercial transactions both in-house and within major US law firms on behalf of publicly traded and privately held domestic and international organizations.
Kirsty was formerly the General Counsel of the StepStone Group, a $333 billion global private markets firm providing investment and advisory services integrating fund investments, secondaries and co- investments in private equity, private debt, real estate, infrastructure and real assets. While at StepStone, Kirsty advised the firm on all aspects of the marketing, formation, structuring and operation of flagship private equity, private debt, real estate and infrastructure funds, single manager, commingled, direct and co-investment funds. During her tenure, Kirsty was responsible for creating efficient systems and building cross functional teams to increase productivity, drive revenue and manage operational risk.
Prior to joining StepStone, Kirsty was a corporate attorney with over 11 years of experience at leading firms including Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, Paul Hastings and Credit Suisse. Kirsty has broad transactional experience negotiating complex transactions including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, financing transactions, management buyouts and secondary acquisitions. She regularly represented pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, fund of funds and other large institutional investors with respect to investments in private equity, real estate and hedge funds, co-investments, direct investments and secondary acquisitions.
Kirsty also serves as a committee member of the Private Investment Funds Committee of the New York City Bar Association which addresses recently enacted legislation and regulatory action as well as issues and market trends that impact private investment funds.
Kirsty received her JD with honors from the George Washington University Law School and her BS in Commerce with concentrations in Marketing and Management from the University of Virginia.
