Gerri Mason Hall

Gerri Mason Hall is a C-suite leader with more than 25 years’ experience in organizational management and inclusive leadership development, through the lens of equity and diversity. Her journey has ranged from legal compliance to human capital engagement, to cultural and social transformation. Her industry experiences are varied including transportation, hospitality, and data management.

In 2023 Gerri rewired, launching The P3Team (Purpose, People & Processes), supporting select clients in refining their purpose and designing solutions for challenges related to their people. Leveraging her experience from both the private and public sectors, Gerri can quickly assess and identify the root causes of talent gaps and has curated a team of experts to intervene.

Gerri’s most recent corporate role was at NetApp, a Fortune 500 hybrid cloud data services company. As its first chief of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging she crafted and led a 3-year plan exceeding goals from year one. Prior to NetApp, Gerri held a series of senior level roles at Sodexo, the 19th largest employer globally with 460,000 employees and $22.2 billion in annual revenue. Her final position on the executive leadership team included oversight for DE&I, Sustainability and Food Insecurity, covering over 250,000 employees in nine countries. Her strength lies in helping organizations elevate these issues to C-suite focus and integrating them into business strategies.

For five years prior, Gerri was the Chief Human Resources Officer for Sodexo North America. Among her successes was ensuring leadership reflected the workforce and the diverse communities Sodexo serves. While consistently exceeding key performance objectives for human capital: dramatic reductions in spend, enhanced employee benefits driving increased engagement, and driving a learning and recognition culture, she was able to integrate D&I in operating plans through inclusive HR policies and practices. Outreach to both internal and external stakeholders helped accelerate progress towards goals and broaden the footprint of Sodexo’s award-winning efforts.

Prior to Sodexo, Gerri spent eight years at Amtrak, the US national passenger railroad. She was instrumental in settling a   class action lawsuit avoiding millions of dollars in protracted litigation. As D&I lead reporting to the CEO, she transformed the policies and practices that gave rise to the lawsuit and dramatically increased the representation of African Americans in leadership roles.

Augmenting her commitment to inclusion and advancing the underserved, Gerri is actively engaged in several non-profit boards including the Congressional Hunger Center, the UNCF, and Generations United.

Gerri is a sought–after speaker and expert in the areas of Inclusion & Equity, Human Resources, and Corporate Responsibility. Most recently she has been addressing the “S” in ESG.  A graduate of Vassar College and the George Washington       University National Law Center, Gerri held several appointments in both the federal and District of Columbia governments, including the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Gerri is a native of Washington, D.C. and actively involved in her community. She is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the Links, Inc.
