Jean Ibañez-Payne is a Navy veteran and survivor of Military Sexual Trauma who has transformed her personal experiences into a powerful mission of advocacy and change. She embodies resilience, courage, and unwavering determination in her fight to end military sexual abuse.

Jean’s journey is one of profound transformation and perseverance. In her best-selling memoir, Reclaim Your Worth: A Story of Abuse, Empowerment, and Building a Life on My Terms, she bravely shares her story of overcoming sexual trauma, discrimination, and systemic barriers within both military and corporate environments. She also authored Recupera Tu Valor, the Spanish edition of her memoir, and a children’s book, Jean and the Magnificent Mirror, continuing her commitment to healing and empowerment across generations.

As the CEO of TI Verbatim Consulting (TIVC), a company she founded in 2014, Jean leads with purpose. TIVC’s mission is to “Help People Work Better Together” by providing expertise in Organizational Development, Training and Development, and Strategic Communications. The firm serves both commercial clients and the federal government, and it has developed a proprietary AI Culture Platform. This innovative software uses Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning to analyze and improve workplace cultures.

In 2025, Jean took her advocacy to the legislative stage by championing Virginia House Bill 2520, which seeks to establish an independent Sexual Offense Prevention and Response Program within the Virginia Department of Military Affairs. Her vision is to inspire similar legislation in every U.S. state, protecting both women and men from sexual abuse within military ranks.

Jean holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, an MBA, and several professional certifications. Beyond her business and advocacy work, she actively serves on nonprofit boards, extending her impact and commitment to community empowerment.
