Janice Bryant Howroyd is a trailblazer in the business world as the founder and CEO of the ACT-1 Group, a global leader in workforce management and employment services. Starting her business with just $1,500 in 1978, she expanded ACT-1 into a multi-billion-dollar company that operates in over 30 countries. As the first African American woman to build a billion-dollar enterprise, Janice exemplifies resilience, innovation, and commitment to diversity and inclusion. A strong advocate for economic inclusion and personal development, she has received numerous accolades, including Black Enterprises Woman of the Year award and being a member of President Obama’s Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). In addition to her entrepreneurial success, Janice is a sought-after speaker on leadership, entrepreneurship, and womens empowerment. She continues to drive ACT-1 with a focus on human-first solutions, using technology to empower both businesses and workers worldwide
