Billie Asmus

Billie Asmus (pronounced Ah-smuhs) is the Founder & CEO of Repaint Studios and inventor of the Repaint Tray, a reusable paint tray system with a silicone liner and resealable lid designed to save paint, provide convenience, simplify cleanup, and reduce plastic waste in home improvement. What began as an idea born from her own frustration with single-use plastic paint trays has grown into a nationally distributed consumer product company.

Since launching in 2024, Billie has taken the Repaint Tray from prototype to signing contracts with Lowe’s, The Home Depot, and Ace Hardware, expanded internationally into New Zealand, and appeared on Season 17 of ABC’s Shark Tank, securing an on-air deal with Barbara Corcoran and guest Sharks, Chip and Joanna Gaines. The Repaint Tray was also named a 2025 Popular Mechanics Gear of the Year, alongside well known brands including Yeti, DeWalt, and Milwaukee.

Along the way, Billie has navigated the realities of funding a rapidly growing CPG company—from bootstrapping and pitch competitions to debt, crowdfunding, and raising outside capital. She brings a founder’s perspective on not only getting capital in the door but also finding the right capital and the right partners for each stage of growth.

As a mother of two building her company from the rural Midwest, Billie is proof that big ideas don’t have to come from big cities.
