Ms. McAllister is an experienced sitting corporate director. In 2017, Singleton was voted onto the proxy board of Securitas Critical Infrastructure Services, Inc., the largest protective security company in the world. She serves as the lead director on the board of Anterix, and in May 2022, Singleton was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of Chart Industries. She served on the Board of Directors for United Rentals for 14 years in the leadership positions including Chair of its Compensation Committee, and on the Board of Alliant Energy the largest service provider in Wisconsin and Iowa. There she served as Chair of its Compensation Committee and on its Nomination and Governance Committee.
In 2023, Ms. McAllister was appointed Co-Chair of the Executive Leadership Council’s Corporate Board Navigator program which enhances the preparedness of black executives for service on corporate boards. Singleton is also Chair for the National Women’s History Museum, and also serves on the Board of Visitors at Howard University School of Law.
Ms. McAllister is a highly skilled attorney with Husch Blackwell LLP and a member of its Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation section and a leader in government affairs and regulatory law for over 30 years, having held several senior positions at the national level. Notably, she was senior counsel to the
U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Budget. She was appointed by then President, Bill Clinton as the General Counsel to the U.S. Agency for International Development, as chief legal advisor to 72 U.S. missions around the world. She represents companies and trade associations throughout a wide range of industries in public and regulatory matters related to international trade, transportation, energy, education and healthcare, develops and manages crisis-management campaigns, trade compliance and corporate guidance. The Governor of Virginia appointed her as the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Election.
She is a thought leader and speaker and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Compensation Committee Chair Advisory Council. Directors & Boards Magazine honored her as a Director to Watch 2016 and Savoy Magazine, Power 300: The Most Influential Black Corporate Directors, 2016, NACD’s Directorship and C-Suite’s magazine profiled her in its Boards spotlight. In 2019 she was listed among the NACD Directorship 100 Honorees in the NACD Directorship
magazine. Singleton is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a fellow of the National Association of Public Administrations and is recognized as the Top 100 in the National Black Lawyers and BE Registry of Corporate Directors. She was recently recognized in Women Inc. 2023 as one the Most Influential Women Corporate Board Directors.
