C. Fara Francis is a Senior Technology Executive and visionary leader with over 15 years of expertise in the strategic development and implementation of tech solutions for associations. As the Chief Information Officer for ASCD, Fara provides thought leadership and strategic insight that is crucial in effectively servicing our 100,000+ global association members.Early in her career, Fara served as a Senior Consultant for Grant Thornton, LLP and Broadpoint Technologies where she supported multi-million-dollar accounts and pioneered clients’ technology solutions to meet the needs of complex business operations. Her outstanding performance, relationship building, and integrity as a consultant led to being recruited as the CIO for AGC where she successfully led technology transformations for 12 years. Fara is PMP Certified and holds an Executive Leadership Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Sloan School of Management, an M.B.A. in Finance from Marymount University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of the District of Columbia. She volunteers for several community non-profits and is a member of the Board of the DC Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM).
