Hope Johnson is Chief Financial Officer at Haven Technologies an Insurtech start-up based in NYC.
Before joining Haven Technologies, Hope spent 22 years with IBM, serving in a variety of roles. Most recently, she was Vice President and Assistant Controller, IBM Business Controls. In this role, she managed IBM’s Internal Controls Framework across all IBM brands, geographies and functions. Prior to this role, she served as Director of Finance for various company divisions, including Systems Risk, Controls & Revenue; Global Business Services Delivery (IBM Consulting); and Global Services Integration Hub in Dublin, Ireland.
In addition to her experience at IBM, she also served as Assistant Vice President, P&C Claims Strategic Services and Consolidation Controller at The Hartford Insurance Group.
Hope received her Bachelor’s in Management from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, with First Class Honors. She earned her MBA in Finance at Columbia Business School and received Beta Gamma Sigma Honors recognition.
Outside of work, Hope has been a mentor for high school students for several years. Most recently she has been engaged in developing a mentoring program with Manchester High School in Jamaica. She has a vested interest in diversity and was a founding member of the IBM Poughkeepsie Black Diversity Group (Spectrum). She also led IBM Ireland’s Multicultural Diversity efforts as a member of Ireland’s Diversity Council, served as an Executive Sponsor for IBM’s Black Women in Finance and Operation organization, and was a founding member and President of Jamaica Impact, Inc (JAMPACT), a U.S. based not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving basic school education in Jamaica. Hope has been a lifelong Girl Scouts/Girl Guide.
Hope is a native of Jamaica, West Indies, and currently resides in Stamford, Connecticut with her husband Devon and their two daughters, Camille and Danielle.
