Tara McDaniel began her career in Washington, D.C. as Staff Assistant to Congressman John Lewis (D-GA). She then went on to serve in the House Majority Whip Office as a Chief Deputy Majority Whip Executive Assistant. Tara then served as Legislative Assistant for the National Women’s Business Council and Director of Member and Financial Services for the Executive Leadership Council. Tara relocated to Dallas where she served as the Director of the D/FW Minority Business Development Center and spokesperson for D/FW International Airport and American Airlines.
Tara then joined Sodexo, where she served in various roles in media and internal/external communications. Tara also served as Vice President of Communications for Asbury Communities, where she led the team responsible for media relations and communications. Most recently, Tara was named Interim President and CEO of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) after serving as its Chief of Staff since October 2018. Tara holds a B.A. in Political Science from Hampton University and an Executive Leadership Management Certificate from Cornell University. Tara lives in Montgomery County, MD and served on the Board of the Manna Food Bank for six years and is a member of Leadership
